Meticulous planning from the outset is the key to the successful execution of a project. Refurbishment of period properties is an inexact science, and all such projects throw up a few unexpected surprises throughout their duration.
Sometimes these result in deviations from the planned itinerary, which in turn require pragmatic solutions. If you approach the project with fear & loathing, then these solutions will be harder to achieve.
